It's up there with TDAG as a statement.

i think this is as close to lennon's death as we'll ever see, given the suddenness of it all and the magnitude of the artist

I really want Lazarus to be a huge hit.

the amount of hyperbole in this thread
|

Lennon's was more of an unforeseen tragedy, this was more of a losing battle and he made one last epic statement by releasing a post-dated landmark

Lemmy was massive but the thing is Motorhead were only legendary in the UK (even though obviously they were loved worldwide) so the magnitude wasn't as big.
This is monumental

yeah Kurt was massive and still spawns documentaries etc to this day, like that new conspiracy flick with regards to his death and Courtney Love.

This was unforeseen too, because he hid his cancer from the world until after his death.
|
| |
that's why the whole post-dated final word is so awe filling

Yeah it is impactive but Tuna dude seriously in 94 if you were under the age of 20 and had an ounce of 'alt' in you the entire generation mourned.
When Dylan goes it will be a bummer.

Kurt was big and all, but this is Bowie we're talking about. The feels I get when I played Blackstar on my ride to work this morning as opposed to Friday morning... Totally different experience. Never have I teared up over the loss of an artist.
What a way to go out. I'm so glad we were able to witness the legend that is David Bowie.
