the portals stream is sick as hell damn. pretty much every version is better than its album counterpart save maybe concealing fate, even the altered state stuff imo
the stuff from this album was especially night and day, so the prod here is a bigger issue than i realized. even kinda dig the portals version of phoenix which is otherwise one of my least fav tesseract songs lol but its a lot less annoying in that capacity

i only knew about half of the material i jammed tbf it was mostly for discovery purposes
this, the hajis kitchen album, cost of dreaming and castles are the only real dips and skips though. all his other stuff is great

I never really made up my mind about Cost of Dreamimg tbh. It feels more contemporary, but also just loud all the time. I kind of liked it? But kind of didn't care too much?
I guess Dan just doesn't really appeal to me as a singer anymore tbh. He is without a doubt really talented

cost of dreaming is definitely the best project i listed but i feel like it doesnt really figure out what it wants to be until the very end and theres some really bad stuff in the middle of it lol i only listened to it the one time though
first signs of frost, zeta, piano, and his solo records were all completely new to me though, and i guess id heard atone before since i had it rated but i have no memory of listening to that album before a few days ago lol. i liked most of it though. i dig that he tries so many different things outside of this band since its usually been better than this band (new album aside) and the sonic variety is just about enough to make up for him being a consistently pretty bad lyricist lmao
