ok
great review
I love the album
but
Descreation Smile is a Great song and should be a recommended track
and the acoustic writing is not bad on this album!

The solo on Readymade is looovely, one of my favourite chili's solo for a while actually. I agree with the "slower songs being dragged on" bit though, a lot of them could be shortened by 1 or even 2 minutes and made much better

This album is rock at times, pop at others, and funk in between everything else. People should quit worrying about whether or not the Chili Peppers are going to go all Blood Sugar again and just listen. Even if you don't like the direction they're going, most of the songs are still well-written and certainly don't "suck".

Some parts of the album sound like One Hot Minute, to me. Slow Cheetah, and Turn It Again. The B-Side, Whatever We Want, does as well.

It's sort of the strange that the title track is possibly the weakest song on both discs. Mars is obviously a much better disc then Jupiter, If the Chili Peppers just released Mars + a few songs from Jupiter then this album would be excellent. This is obviously growing on me, but albums like BloodSexSugarMagik and the s/t debut are just so much funkier and groovy.

I'll agree with some of that. "Stadium Arcadium" and "If"
are more than likely the worst songs on here, but overall I'd say it's still great. I actually prefer this to any other Chili Peppers album, including BloodSugar. This Message Edited On 06.20.06

Bloodsugar is still a close fav of mine, I think your right tho that people should stop worrying whether the bands gonna sound like that again, the rhcp are in their mid 40s almost (except john), theyd look ridiculous if they were doing the exact same music!

ok to be honest i dont think Red Hot Chili Peppers is a bad band at all, but i cant see this band being someones "Favorite Band." Sure the Bass rhythm is rhythmic like hell, but that stuff gets old, because in order for the bass rhythm to BE rhythmic, you have to kill off the electric guitar and the drums. (yea, i think the guitar and drums stink, but vocals are ok)
Anyone get my drift?

Chad Smith. You can remember the guy that sang with Shakira on Hips Don't Lie but you can't remember Chad...

The bass and the drums provide the rhythym. And besides, guitars can be very rhythmic. It's how you use them. This Message Edited On 06.24.06

I found it hard to get into this at first but after a while it really did grow on me. One of the best albums of the year easily.
