i dont listen to any glitch/idm. not sure if I really want to just so that I can "get" this though

it isn't about "getting" anything. you said this was too abrasive, and the more you listen to glitch and IDM, the less abrasive this kind of stuff will seem. i guess it's about desensitizing you, but if u truly hate it, then maybe don't pursue those genres.

Disregarding Death Grips' Niggas on the Moon and Government Plates, this is probably the only time I've ever been exposed to glitch/idm. The chopped and screwed production and turntablism of early hip hop probably warmed me up a lot to this tho as this instantly clicked for me

I understand but the glitchy parts were def my least favorite parts of the album so i dont see why listening to glitch/idm is a good idea. obv my music tastes arent as developed as others, esp in the metal/electronic areas. maybe someday but for now I dislike this album

Fruitcake and Cookies is the best tune on here, it's the song where the Prefuse 73 meets Blonde Redhead meets My Bloody Valentine aesthetic is most seamless

con if you want to explore eleectronic/IDM further just check out aphex twin's SAW85-92. it's really not abrasive, whereas the opening track here is honestly even pretty abrasive for IDM
