I have to strongly disagree. I'll admit their re-emergence in post-rock was something I was skeptical about at first, if only because I thought Yanqui was a lackluster effort, but this and their last album made me fall in love with them all over again.



I'm no drone connoisseur, but I enjoy what they did here. It seems off-putting at first, but when I hit play and relax, it's almost hypnotizing.

I actually found the first track to be the weakest. Piss Crowns was pretty good, but I feel like it's a little heavy handed. Strong "THIS IS THE FINALE, BE ASTONISHED" vibe for me. Still, it's good.
