I prefer Nevermind slightly, but this is still awesome. [2]

Heart Shaped Box actually turned a lot of fans heads back then I can imagine, the pop sensibilities of Nevermind were just cast aside for raw bleakness.

I absolutley fucking loved it. Bought the single the day it came out and was immediately singing along.

"Hey, way. I got a windowpane!" :D

This was darker than Nevermind but at the time I remember being shocked more by the rawness.

Something in the Way and Polly were plenty grim so I knew they had that in the locker, it was the tone of Milk It, RFUS, Frances Farmer and Scentless that shocked

They were cool as fuck Plebster son.

Metalheads back then would disagree but I found everything in Nirvana that metal at that point just presented as tights, hair, tounges and screaming. It was a fucking nonsense.

Up stepped Nirvana. Just thinking back to it gets the adrenaline pumping.

Nothing comes close. Now what have we got a bunch of bellends wearing the t-shirts, a bunch of clueless fuckers saying they were 'overrated' and the disgruntled people who were there at the time saying they were the death of the metal scene.

I'm telling ya, nothing touches 'em.

They were the bollocks, agreed.

I can pick at least one iconic lyric off every song on here, the 'endorphins' line on Milk It still gives me chills.

Nevermind was always a real good album, just never quite connected with me as much this.

The live performance of Radio Friendly at 'MTV Live and Loud' is so classic, when Pat flicks his fag just before the riff kicks in, cool as fuck.

Exactly doof. If you were a teen in the early 90s didn't wear a spliffy jacket, didn't wear sovs, didn't bang jungle from your cosworth and hated everything you 5d Nirvana.

They were our Elvis.
