Because I felt that it wasn't up to par with my writing and I finally wanted to end the out-of-hand conversations that were coming from that write-up

Yeah, but I'm keeping things a bit quiet until mid-August when I write my next review. I'm taking a break right now

Good answer, Necro. : ) Though I thought the review was fine.

I was just a bit distraught after the comments on the second version of the review, and started hating my own writing. But I figured "whatever. It's my own style, so I'll continue to improve what I'm doing instead of trying too hard to reinvent it"

I really haven't seen any significantly intelligent opinions describing the album negatively. There's been a lot of anime and Japanese culture jokes, but that's it.

this is exactly like death grips. it's a big meme.

The difference being the guy behind these songs has songwriting ability. He can compose music - Death Grips haven't written any actual music.

death grips is the epitome of corroding hip-hop culture through extreme and unwarranted narcissism

it does what metal's rebellious nature has always been about: bucking the trends. if this gets more of the current generation of kids into what many of you feel is 'real metal', then that's even better. you're just thinking about exposure to people who already listen to all the obscure stuff i.e. this web site, but the potential for this goes well beyond that.

No. I feel Death Grips is almost afraid of success. They want their niche market, and as it's grown beyond that they cancel shows and say they're done. But they'll probably be back for round three.

Will avoid. Thanx, guest.

Also, I feel punk and metal culture has always been afraid of success. So did "Death Grips" not just take this overall emotion and perhaps apply it to hip hop?

I'm going to need a few examples here, buddy. Now if you said emo culture, I would agree. It seems they all quit after an album. It's the 'cool' thing to do.
