true it has filler but so do, you know, a lot of great albums...i think the guitar work on it is better than sweven, it's worth being patient with

I haven't given TFoD enough listens to compare it to Sweven. However, from what I remember, the riffs

and leads here a way more memorable. So are the guitar tones. But, I will give it more spins for sure

I don't know who it was that said this sounds like Atheist, but I couldn't think of a more inapt and random comparison. I mean everyone's perception is different I guess, but I have no idea where that comes from. The rhythm section is night and day different, and that's one of the biggest defining elements of Atheist. Then there's the major lack of technical riffing, all the atmospheric stuff, etc.



This album is weird as hell, but not technical in the least bit. There's a lot of space and textures.
