The album has some great musicianship but overall half of the songs here aren't really that exciting in my opinion including the vocals as well.However I think voice of the soul is very cool including the latter 2 to forgive is to suffer and moment of clarity which are one of the better ones so to say.I think their version of painkiller is OK take it or leave it.

exactly. its not underrated. its an essential death metal album and almost everyone who listens to death metal considers it to be so, but they got better when their songwriting got more intricate and when they got rid of the childish lyrics and concepts. still learning, eh lil guy?
