Yeah, I listen to this pretty much every day but I just cannot 5 it. I should stop comparing it to USAD and maybe then I'll be able to.

To be honest, I think my only real reluctance in not having done so already is due to it still being a somewhat recent release that kinda caught me by surprise in my immediate fondness for it.



Like at first I was skeptical about my unhealthy obsession with it & just kinda waiting for that intial honeymoon period to subside & gain a more rational objective perspective on things...but I've realised it's nearly 8 months later & I still seem to be absolutely hopelessly in love with it beyond reason.



Or more accurately, despite the fact that in a general sense heavier genres still comprise the majority of my daily listening - my interest seems to be immediately & entirely captivated once again every time I listen to Small Talk or The Glass or Face Value or pretty much any other song here.



I don't know why it is, but it's the sort of album that I already know I'm still going to remember & love in 10 years time - & I guess that alone should merit it's place alongside my favourite albums.

Of course I have. It is equally as awesome in many respects. Swords And Pens & High Regard are among some of my favourite songs. However, it wasn't quite a 5 for me.



I guess I've listened to it for longer than WYDS & generally still love it & play it regularly - but that's exactly what makes this release so impressive for me - in that I feel they've truly exceeded themselves, or perhaps more fittingly, enhanced & developed their sound to such an extent here; which almost seemed an entirely implausible proposal considering just how incredibly strong USAD was as a debut.



& from my perspective at least, their highlights here are just as numerous, whilst some are even more spectacular.



I duno...I guess I just feel this album hits me a lot harder & in all the right places. It's the kind of album I could listen to every day - as it seems I have consequently found myself doing lately...

swords and pens is my favorite from usad but i do agree that this gets way more playtime from me

I have USAD at a 5 but I honestly like this one more

It's just impossible not to love the amazing lyrics and delivery, plus great riffs and drumming.

Indeed. I fail to see how anyone could genuinely dislike this band without lacking fundamental taste in good music.



Certainly also helps that the production on this is pretty exceptional to justifiably reward the truly sublime instrumentation; or more specifically it's veritable poise & balance. In terms of accentuating all of the aspects of their sound that I have a definite proclivity for - they've achieved everything I wanted, & so much more than that on this release.



It just really appeals to my discerning tastes in every way possible; & I can't help but love it unconditionally for that.
