yeah, even though I don't hear it in The Moor. I suppose that's how you feel when I say there isn't anything great about it. I think maybe if I listened to it first, I would have liked it a lot more but it ended up being the one I listened to last. So after going through all the heavy albums, it didn't seem to stand out

I guess I always had a soft spot for it since it's the only one of theirs besides BWP that uses that style of repetitive walls of heavy suspended/minor chords guitars

I really like SL, because to me it has the perfect clean/growl dosage, and overall I find BWP's

ambience a little generic, whereas SL has Benighted and Face of Melinda to calm the atmosphere. In BWP

the only real ballad is Harvest, and it still has the same bleak ambience than the rest of the album.

I'm not a fan of the repetition and that's the reason I gave it a 4.5 rather than a 5, due to the odd bits that go on for too long.

@Onirium, patterns in the ivy? To be fair, the acoustic parts in BWP is good enough to not have another ballad

Yeah maybe, there's just something with the repetitive bleak and depressing atmosphere of BWP I dig less. Still a really solid 4 or 4.5. Also, SL is the album that really got me into their DM stuff, so it's just subjectivity here I guess

It was Bleak and The Lotus Eater that initially clicked for me and they're still among my favourites. riffs are cool and stuff, but if you don't like them, the entire song is kinda tarnished and that's me with this

Also, Jamie, how are you liking Pale Communion?

Haven't heard it yet, hopefully I'll have time to check it tomorrow, if not it might have to wait a while.

Considering you really enjoyed Heritage, I'm sure you'll love PC

I'm swinging more towards this, but it's still early days for PC. Loving the increased folk influence on it though

Most beautiful moments on the album for me are the Drag Ropes intro, and the atmospheric section of

Ldudet
