Well I mean, they probably spent most of it trying to put the album together.

Now that's a good reason to repeat "we are working in cellar so we have nothing in life but this album guys" while slowly vanishing like poor magic trick.
Oh yeah, they'd also have to be incredibly terrible at math. Got over twice their estimates, still wasn't enough?
I spent quite some time thinking on this one while watching their regress. Them not planning to put the album out in the first place makes the most sense. Remember that time when they gave out their last statement? And ACCIDENTALLY at the same day they announced they had a guy record bass for them as he himself posted about it at the same time. Hm, weird. Loos like quick coverup

They're probably full of shit. Album's still ace though, so I'm hoping for the best

Just for the simple fact that they're a bunch of pieces of shits that screwed over all the people that contributed to their kickstarter.

There's no proof of them having screwed over anyone intentionally. Yeah, it sucks for everyone who donated, but that's the risk you take with crowdfunding and/or any investment. What if the band breaks up before the album is completed? What if someone dies? What if it's just plain shit?
I find it pretty hard to believe that an entire band full of dedicated and talented musicians would screw over their fans intentionally (and thereby their own careers in a pretty small and tight-knit musical community) over the princely sum of $30,000.

It's no use, my guy. People just want a reason to be salty about dumb shit.

Ha yeah! I mean I get why the ppl who contributed are salty. Not so sure about everyone else. It's like they believe these dudes learned to play their instruments and put out this better than decent EP all as part of the plan to scam people out of about a years worth of min wages for each of them. Brilliant! xD

Either you're autistic or you can see the MASSIVE failure to communicate they pulled.
There is no middle ground.

People who donated have every right to be pissed. I don't understand why they can't get refunds. I don't care who's pocket it has to come out of, they deserve to get their money back.

money went straight to Corelia guys.
Here on Nostalgia we have 5 guys. Then, 2 of them left the band. What happened later on? Who knows, maybe they decided "fuck it, nobody earns money on music nowdays so let's get some money from music this one time, especially that we're 3 and we don't have idea what else can we do".
I would believe that they just screwed something up if not the communication. Once every 6 months "hold on we're doing this, we can't show you anything but we're doing it". Doesn't make much of believable sad and painful crash of a project does it

It never ceases to amaze me when people white knight bands.
Fact is, no one died. They didn't break up. Well, now you can consider them defunct. However, at the time of crowdfunding, they were offering all of these packages, including group vocals in which they got people to partake in--and not only did they ultimately fail to produce an album--but they also never offered a response or reasoning to the people that backed this project.
Also, Ryan Devlin had a history of hustling people out of money for half-assed 'vocal lessons'.
Everything about this band turned out to be nothing but a scam. They're hustlers. And for that reason, I will shit on this band and its members, every time the opportunity presents itself.

"Everything about this band turned out to be nothing but a scam."
Yeah, this whole thing was a CLASSIC hustle setup
Step 1: Spend years getting really good at playing musical instrument
Step 2: Find other hustlers who have also spent years getting good at playing instruments
Step 3: Invest hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in equipment
Step 4: Make really good album
Step 5: Get people to give you A FEW THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to make another album
Step 6: Keep them on the hook with updates for a couple of years despite already having their money
Step 7: Hire and pay other musicians and have them record parts just to keep up the charade even though you already have the money
Step 8: Retire to private island and live happily ever after on the FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS you made
There should be a movie about this. It's like that Fyre documentary, but even more #fireemoji amirite?
