Haha touche, but definitely agree with you there. I don't think there's even much point going through Petrucci's worst

This Dying Soul is the worst part of the AA suite

He really digs Coldplay too. Surprised he didn't experiment with more elements towards the end of his career at DT

As much as Mike often comes off as a bit of a douchebag, I still think he brought some sort of human quality to the band tbh. Weird, and I hate saying it because my drum teacher studied with Mike Mangini at Berkeley, the man's a phenomenal drummer

Portnoy joked around with the band a lot and kept it pretty lighthearted in the studio. Too serious right now

He was also really dominating and controlling of everything. One of the best qualities of ADTOE is how much the keyboards and bass shine out because John was running things and all the instruments were given room to breathe

And then the s/t happened along with practically inaudible bass.

Well the s/t didn't really do anything right. Except a cool instrumental I guess. I honestly wouldn't mind another predictable heavy prog rock album like ADTOE

I'll take that over something in vein of the self titled. Something completely different, ideally

It'd probably be like Periphery but with less metalcore and possibly worse singing
