You should try it again. I love the band (top 5 for me), and it still took about 3 listens to click and about another 10 or so before I realized it's their best album.

Yes, Black Mile is the best. Debut is the worst.

Nah debut is fantastic. Come on man — Wolves at Night, Where Have You Been, Now That You’re Home, I Can Barely Breathe, Colly Strings...album is loaded. Cope is their worst imo (really I’d say Hope if you consider that in a ranking), but it’s still very good.

You guys definitely need to give Black Mile another listen or two. Let it grow/sink in. I refuse to believe someone could not like it much. Probably just needs another listen or few.

Black Mile is a modern classic.

Though I will add that, for me, Black Mile was one of the most immediate albums in years for me. Everything usually takes a few listens. But I loved BM first listen — loved it even more on subsequent listens though.

Black Mile rules like few other other albums do. It's so immersive and subtle

This is no Black Mile, but it's solid so far.

Yeah, but not many albums are Black Mile period. Honestly might be my favorite album of the past decade. It’s fucking perfect.

This is great too, but BM is lightning in a bottle, their magnum opus, and I doubt they’ll ever top it.

This is catching up on the second half though, Virgin and t/t are pretty good.

Yeah t/t, Leave it Alone and Apprehension really bring this from a 3.5 to a 4 for me. Second half is definitely where this shines and the t/t is one of their best songs.
