Wish I could bump this to a 4.5, but the last two tracks on here are snoozers

Sorry, Trif, but this one hasn't aged as well as I want it to. The other mid period Dimmu records are classics. This one doesn't have as many strong hooks outside of the big two singles.

It has aged perfectly. Just jammed again last night. Timeless classic tbh.

I still remember the music video of “Progenies” playing in the living room and my dad peak boomering actually booming about how “NO SON OF MINE” 🤣🤣🤣

I bet that progenies video had a bigger impact than many of us realize. I know personally I remember the first time seeing it and for whatever reason moving forward I thought Shagrath was also doing the cleans in the song, which seemed insane in my mind (clearly it was).

BUT it got me thinking about black metal, and so off to wikipedia I went one day and church burnings and satan and suicide and Jesus is a cunt and so on and all of a sudden I'm infatuated and start gobbling it all up. I doubt I'm the only one.

Still hits so hard after all these years. Progenies is a fucking masterpiece of symphonic bm. Whole album is but especially that song.

Think its about time I review this actually.
