You have a point. A Tribe Called Quest, MF DOOM, GZA and Blackalicious, to name a few, don't really degrade women though.

hip hop has a specific history stemming from Kool Herc, it was a political movement before it ever became a music, and it was music before it ever involved what we would call rapping. The message was peace, love, unity and having fun. If you like raps about other stuff thats nice, just don't go saying this is the hip hop album of the year because this album has nothing to do with hip hop, besides having adopted an aspect of hip hop, rapping. By using the two words interchangeably you are misusing vocabulary horribly to anyone who knows this history, and yes, most rap artists are conscious of this history and especially all the ones you just mentioned oltnabrick.

I think MF Doom just said that Earl sent him a beat, so who knows if it'll turn out to be a collab or not.

Dunno what's gonna happen, like that collab with Nas that apparently fell apart.
