Adam Downer aka Electric City compared the vocals of 12 Rods’ gay?
That is an..........interesting comparison.

is "deceit" supposed to sound like "this heat"

I figure yes on the former. Disheat
I think the kind of antisocial monotone snarl comes from a similar place. I agree that they’re not particularly similar lol

I want to hear a Jamaican pronounce this band/album title combo.

no I’m not giving you my seat bruv

tec it appears you have not rated the ghost trade please rectify this
it's basically the third this heat album, the bands have two members in common
|
| |
Hmm it appears it is on my RYM wishlist already. Looks like I'll be bumping it to the top of the queue.

what a singularly eerie album
paper hats is so great, as is cenotaph

the end of paper hats is liking staring into some kinda abyss. my mind tries to create a "reason" rooted in something for someone to loop a crazy ominous drum track into a taped-and-slowed version of itself and the lack of response I get is the very reason kinda
its good stuff

Yeah. Makeshift Swahili tho.
after revisiting the emphatically SUPERIOR s/t recently, I should check again and see if we have growth here

this is definitely a bifurcated album, it has like five of the best songs ever and then some pretty cool interludey things, but yeesh it's somehow just an incredible listen overall
I like s/t but never got into it enough. I think they perfected this style here and that s/t is a bit more germinal but what a great band...and some stunning moments on s/t no doubt

If THIS HEAT was the perfect ice cream sundae, this is that same perfect ice cream sundae with just a little bit of extra whipped cream on top.

Surprised no one's rated their collaboration with Albert Marcœur. It's good early stuff.

Also, I really need to check Camberwell Now. Bought the compilation CD a few months ago and still haven't checked it.

yes this is sooooo fragmented, has hardly any ACTUAL songs (i.e. yep gimme interludes) and is kinda just a collage of experimental whims almost as if they’re drifting in and out of consciousness… and by that I mean it rules!
The production is top notch btw, as it has a very nice sharp edge. The noisy parts are so satisfying

it’d also be rather silly to accuse this of not having cohesive song structuring in any serious sense (twas clearly a joke!), while praising the s/t given the nature of that release in comparison
