Gotta love the flute playing on this. Maybe that inspired JT's avi, I dunno.

Well, the avi looks like the pied piper or something, which I could easily asocciate with Tull's music.

Lol.
That being said, I think it's the first time I bring up the subject.

Thats the Tull logo

Didn't know that tbh. Saw the avi for maybe like a year and a half and didn't get what it meant.
Much like Notrap's pick. Took me a long time to realize that it was Gilmour.

The irony of Thick As A Brick is that Jethro Tull wrote the album as a parody of the pretentious genre known as progressive rock. In the end, Jethro Tull beat them at their own game.
Thick As A Brick is one of the greats of progressive rock and one of the best records of all time, period. You would think one song forming an entire album is stupid and pompous, but it's flawless from start to finish. Thick As A Brick puts many prog albums to shame - aka Dark Side Of the Moon or any other overrated Pink Floyd record.
The songwriting is brilliant and the musicianship is top notch. The arrangements are perfection... From the acoustic intro to the violin outro and everything in between, it just works. The album has beautiful folk melodies, wacky time signatures, up-tempo instrumentals, groovy drumming by Barlow (including a tasteful drum solo), and some truly magnificent organ playing by Evans. Jeffrey Hammond's bass lines are fantastic and add depth to the songs. Martin Barre on guitar is one of the best in prog with some excellent riffs and a great lead in part 1 of the song.
All the musicians are just incredible, but Ian Anderson is a musical genius and a supremely talented multi-instrumentalist. He himself plays not just flute, but acoustic guitar, sax, and violin as well handling vocal duties on the album. His vocal performance is superb and his lyrics are thought-provoking, poetic, and comedic.
The album is nothing short of phenomenal. All the musicians shine and the music is executed superbly.
I've spun this album so many times and not once do I lose focus in those 44 minutes.
It should also be noted that the album art on the vinyl is as good as the music. There is some real funny stuff written in those columns.
So! Where the hell was Biggles when you needed him last Saturday?
