here's the thing about islands:
When I was first digging Crimson's discography, I was reading comments and reviews and there was this mixed reaction towards that album. So I was eager to hear it without any prejudice and determined to shut my eyes from all the negativity surrounding the record;
It didn't work out. I listened, again and again, trying to see whether there was something I missed out. But there wasn't. As far as I could see, it was just a bland, boring album.
I still need to listen to it again at some point - maybe when i"ll buy the steven wilson remaster, that is. But I doubt my view on that album will change.
It's not a shining moment in KC's career.

I continue thinking it's a very unique work in all their career and a very beautiful piece. But I can understand why that is an album that divide opinions.

I like Islands a lot actually, though it serves for a much different listening experience than their usual go-to records like this, ITCOTCK or Discipline. Islands is pretty much jazz fusion
