Oh god, it really does. That first groove is one of my favourites in all music ever. I've been trying to learn it lately

This album alone is better than Tool's entire catalogue tbh

Rules so hard, it's shaping to be one of my faves. Do you guys know any albums that give a similar vibe?

Cog or The Butterfly Effect, maybe, associated with the same kinda Aussie rock scene from back in the day. I guess Tesseract has a similar enough vibe too. And you'd probably dig Leprous or Caligula's Horse.

Also, you should 100% check out Oceansize if you've never heard of them.

you might like some of these:

Jericco - self-titled EP or Nice to See You

Elora Danan - In the Room Up There

The Getaway Plan - Dark Horses

Heavy Weight Champ - Lo-Fi Funeral (more nu-metal like old Vool but Ian Kenny is on one song so I'll allow it)

hinge - The Rise and Fall of Living Great

Karnivool are leagues ahead of Tesseract in terms of songwriting though.

Caligula's Horse [2], because they're really colourful
