I don't think Seether puts out as strong of material as even 3DG

3DG is easily my least favorite out of the ones were talking about...although its way to tough for me to rank the other 3. they are all interchangeable

It wasn't my list. My list was:
Chevelle
Hurt
Cold
Disturbed

It's like the Emery thread, but a lot more relevant.
But I 2nd the vote for The Fooeys.

Seether has some great songs but they're really inconsistent, the only album I can listen to all the way through of theirs is Karma and Effect and even there the best songs are at the beginning.
The Foos get respect for being around for 15 years and still staying relevant.

well i guess i'm with ties on i dont really count most of those as mainstream as much as the ones i mentioned earlier

I'll completely agree that they are not "as" mainstream. Aside from that, they are far and above the other ones mentioned.

What's "mainstream" to one person may not be mainstream to another.

"You all like Nickelback & Hinder, don't you?"
Not at all. Nickelback might be the only singer in the world i take pleasure on bringing down. And
it's not without a reason: those guys suck in all they do. Some of their songs are impossible not to
at least sing along though. As for Hinder, I was impressed with one song "Lips Of An Angel" - when I
was 13. Now, hearing what I hear here about them, im not interested.
"What's "mainstream" to one person may not be mainstream to another"
Completely agree. Of course Im not in US or in any big country so I might not have such a wide idea
of music, but I'm still to find how here BB is considered mainstream - I even hear some atrocities
like "generic". Or Alter Bridge. Or Red. In other hand, I consider "mainstream" Nickelback, Three
Days Grace, Seether, Theory of a Deadman, Hinder.

To be honest, I think I'm starting to hate the word "mainstream" full stop. The blanket is definitely being thrown to wide.

"major label= mainstream. imo."
No, no, no. Don't get me to name them, but many bands are on a major label and can pretty much do what they want because they will sell records anyway.
And vice versa, because I'm sure there are also bands not on a major label that play radio-rock.
Now someone come in & help me with some names or else I'll look like a fool.

i've always hated the genre "mainstream"
wait..that came out wrong...i love some good mainstream music but i hate it being called mainstream. Mainstream doesn't really describe what the music actually is

BB, 3DG, Chevelle, 3DD, Shinedown (especially, it's annoying), Disturbed, etc etc
All get major airtime where I live.

I got a little flustered when someone put Lostprophets under mainstream rock here on Sputnik. Obviously, they didn't like 'Liberation Transmission'.

Lostprophets is more Punk if I'm not mistaken.
