My fourth favourite album. Randomly, I listened to Glass handed kites the other day on vinyl. Holy shit, do not buy it - it sounds awful. Probably the worst sounding record I own, which is a pity because it's such a great album.

Oh good bump it's been too long.

Is it the 2020, 180g re-issue Keaton? I’ve been toying with the idea of buying it.

I think the one I have is older than that - Mine is on clear vinyl. I think the problem comes from the fact that they squished the whole dang thing onto one record so each side is super compressed. It honestly sounds like a 128kbs mp3.

Blimey. Cheers for the heads up.

tracks 2/3/4....whew

I've never liked introducing palace players though. Worst first glimpse of the band I ever had. am I wry > IPP
|
| |
Am I Wry is one of the best songs ever tho !. I think IPP goes pretty hard: the beginning is a mess but in a funny fake-out way, and then it just blasts off imho
Not the biggest fan of the ol' "reversed intro track" tho

wonderful song. but I sometimes don't get there: never remember finding "tricks of the trade" or "vaccine" very interesting

With our vaccine Maria you'll fit
Maria
So we search the arch that's singing words
A very interesting song
And your wedding gets crowded
You may joke about it
It's funny, kind-of
Whoa

i think in hindsight this album is far weaker than frengers. the latter half is particularly weak (barring sometimes life isn't easy)

this album is peak 'would never have heard without sputnik' for me
really need to dig into the rest of their discog

Nice. Frengers & Kites are better (although quite different to this and each other)
These guys have never struck me as a Sput band, but maybe that’s because I discovered them through a friend (nearly 20 years ago now, damn!)

this and Frengers are very even when i think about it, I think this one might have the edge for being especially weird at times but Frengers is just such a delight across the board, there's just this pop perfection to it
+- > both doe hehehehehe
