Yeah clayman already had hints of what this album would be. That one was still enjoyable though, and didn't cross the line of whiny angst just yet

Yeah idk I feel like some people just hate on post-Clayman shit because it wasn’t what they wanted to hear. This band was fantastic up to and including Come Clarity. Idk what happened after that but I don’t much care tbh hahaha.

"i love how people act like clayman is none so vile and reroute is pop 2 by charli xcx"

Are you talking quality wise, or are you implying that people think Clayman is still trve melodeath or something while this is their pop record? Because the latter would be retarded.

Exactly. This still riffs and so does Soundtrack and Come Clarity. Adding alt metal elements doesn’t automatically make you poppy but wtf do I know right????

but what i mean is people assume this is simpler because there are new alt elements when in reality this is pretty much as complex as clayman/colony/whoracle

I thought Sounds of a Playground Fading was pretty decent, even if the vocals are bad

there's quite a few good jams on that album for me. the t/t, Deliver Us, Where the Dead Ships Dwell, A New Dawn, I found myself enjoying that album more than most people, much like this one.

Why would you say something so controversial yet so factually wrong

Try comparing any track on this album to something like December Flower or Gyroscope or Jotun or Moonshield, half of this album is just powerchords

i literally said clayman/colony/whoracle and you quoted 2 songs from the jester race (including one they got a guest guitarist because they couldnt play that fast)

the same sort of signature guitar work in songs like jotun is present from the very first track here. and not only from riffs is an album made, there are much more layers here and different elements than have ever been in their previous albums
