Weird death metal/deathcore and alternative metal fusion. It's not great, also not as bad as rating. Probably it shouldn't be released under Cryptopsy name, but I've seen worse brand tarnishing style switches. I'm not going to listen to this ever again.

Aight, doing a full discog run on these guys because I’ve slept on literally everything aside from None So Vile… I dunno. This isn’t good but I don’t really think it’s as bad as a lot of folks on here. It’s better than a lot of these death metal bands that added cleans and some more melodic moments to try to appeal to the metalcore kids. Tbh if the cleans were, well, not kinda bad then this would honestly be a pretty decent time.



This record really reminds me of In Flames trying to go mainstream. At least these guys gave it one shot and then went back to doing what they do well. Bound Dead and the last track make for a pretty good finish imo, but yeah this is for sure a swing and a miss.

I mean to be fair I immediately despised this from the day of release when I hyped the shit out of this to all of my friends who were less familiar with cryptopsy, only to have my head drop while we were all gathered in my basement smoking and listening to this new “classic death metal release” where I was like “wait this isn’t why I love this band” so I have like 17 year old trauma from this lmfaoooo



I should probably listen to this again and give it a fair listen now that I’m not a stupid teenager anymore and now that Matt has been absolutely fucking killing it with this band for years now
