"starter black metal"

Wasn't aware there were tiers.

i enjoy plenty of the more intense bm, but this is still one of my all-time favorites.

They're definitely a good stepping stone if you want to get deeper into the genre.

Seems all of my favorite bm bands are "starter bm" bands.

WiTTR, Deafheaven, Altar of Plagues, Coldworld

I'm a nub

Coldworld isn't really considered a "starter" black metal band. They're not the most extreme, but I don't think they're the most accessible either.

I guess I'm just a sucker for the more post-rock influenced bm.

I don't know. It could just be that I hate it. Haven't really been impressed by like any blackgaze albums.

Ya I will admit they are pretty easy to like, I still want to marry it though.

Who fucking cares? What matters is the quality. Something can be accessible and still better than the harsher stuff.

Lost and The Great White Emptiness are the best "blackgaze" albums I've heard so far.

Yeah AAFCC and that Lantlos one have been my favorites so far. Deafheaven lacked dynamics and got pretty boring in some places.

Lantlos is awesome too. Definitely up there. I really liked the Deafheaven album, but I need to listen to it more.

Diadem is better than this, but this is a fuckton better than Black Cascade.

I still think this is better than Diadem, but they're definitely both a lot better than Black Cascade.

There are moments on here which are amazing but songs always amount to nothing more than just great. Diadem is simply a more cohesive album.
