Unconventional? Yes. Bizarre? No. Bizarre would it be saying that I think the drums could use some blastbeats. Don't get me wrong, I like this band - but sometimes I just think that the vocals could be complimented better. E.g. I pretty much like the new song "Exile Vilify" because I think the atmosphere of the instrumentation just fits his voice (another example would be "Mistaken by strangers")
I think his voice fits either a rather dark or relaxing atmosphere (examples: above mentioned or start a war and slow show)
But things like "Squalor Victoria" for example strike me as rather repetetive and space-filling. (Admitted I had that problem more with the newest album than this one)
But oh well, that's just me.
