of course not exactly like a Metallica song but there are several ones where the influences are highly showing

And I don't know where you are getting the "ToT is DT trying to be Metallica" argument from Atuma. If anything, Systematic Chaos has more obvious Metallica influence in a few of the songs on it.

yeah, Systematic Chaos is another one with that (Constant Motion ugh) but it's a bit more diversified
than ToT imo even though maybe not in a good way every time (Prophets of War, not really that bad
though but very Muse)
|
| |
SC was basically a mix between ToT and Octavarium
|
| |
I walk beside you is such a blatant muse worship song and is so awful too.

it's more like U2 though, but yeah it's kinda bad
|
| |
one of the worst DT songs ever in my opinion. Oct. is a real mix bag for me.
|
| |
The Answer Lies Within is worse

I have never listened to a DT song and thought that it sounds like a Metallica song.
as i am?

yep. for me it's like: The Answer Lies Within and I Walk Beside You are the weak ones there, Never Enough is another Muse worship but decent, the rest are cool and the title track is just amazing
|
| |
as i am is the most metallica influenced song on ToT and is by far the worst on that album so yeah.

Honor Thy Father is even worse imo
|

Haha hell no, Honor Thy Father is alright.
|

Stream of Consciousness is the best song on Train of Thought.

I like TOT.

endless sacrifice and in the name of god also rule hard on that album.

it's good but one of the weaker ones in their discog imo

I guess I just like the heavier edges in it. Seeing them play songs off it live is brilliant.

definitely some headbanging stuff there but i'm not a big fan of the heavier sound of it
