Music for the Masses is closest to this stylistically, so get on that if you want more of this sound. It's not on the same level imo, but still very good. Black Celebration has a different approach, it's extremely dark. I personally like that one better than MFTM, but it isn't that related to this in sound.

well I mean they did considerUltra to be the "spiritual successor" to Violator, at least for a while, & it's my favorite Depeche Mode album, but it really depends on what you want more of from them
depends on if you want more bleakness or beauty, I guess, which both deliver on but in varying degrees
