But they're a band with a cult following that truly enjoy the content they put out. Some of the shit Deftones do I wouldn't give another band the time of day for doing. Nostalgia, surviving the nu-metal apocalypse, and them being a coming-of-age band for a lot of us kind of shield them to totally fresh-eyed critique I believe.

Fantano’s review was idiotic. Generally like him, but it came off as if he has some grudge with the band, tearing perfectly fine tracks to shreds with awful and unfunny analogies, getting upset about supposedly politically centrist lyrics, which is at best an interpretation, but mostly just a figment of his imagination.
