my fav part of that whole song is the electric zap noise right before his third and most aggressive verse, so fitting

while its possible that Kendrick will/has fallen off (even the most greats put out bad albums eventually, if you want to call Kendrick one of the greats) but I actually really dig Humble. It doesn't sound like anything else he's put out and its good for what it is. If it's improved by the context of the album then that will be even better. I also like the simplicity of the track. Historically artists that release grandiose albums follow them up with more sparse and simple albums so they don't have to shoot bigger than necessary (Kanye from Graduation to 808's, Beatles from Sgt Pepper-White Album, Death Grips Money Store - No Love Deep Web) so if this album isn't as complex as TPAB that could be a great thing

idk why y'all expecting the song to be better in the context of the album, if anything it'll bring down the other songs lmao

plenty of examples of underwhelming singles improving in quality when they're on an album. In this case the track is great and most people just didnt expect this type of track from Kendrick so they automatically dislike it

hated humble, people who are saying it's okay it's satire or parody or whatever are just being fanboy apologists. if you actually enjoy it without the mental gymnastics then fair enough, track for me is missing all the things i find appealing about kendrick

album will likely rule still tho

IDK, hard to say for me. we're talking about a music video that contains Kendrick sitting in Jesus's spot at the last supper and dressing up as Steve Jobs

I wouldn't go as far to call it satire, but it's definitely intentionally overblown to the point of being funny
