I'm finally diving into the band's discog. Boxer was great but if this album is as good as Terrible Love it'll easily destroy it

they're such an easy band to get into, it's like they resonate for everyone in one way or another

I swear, this album hits me harder the older I get. Especially the last 2 songs are unreal.

conversation 16 (even tho the second half pales in comparison to the former), sorrow, and lemonworld are all among their best songs tho

I mean, as far as I’m concerned this is as perfect an album as I’ve ever heard, but The National are so consistent that I can’t really begrudge you that opinion.

they've got plenty of good songs, it's just hard to pick

This doesn't seem as consistent as Alligator/Boxer so far. 'Anyone's Ghost' & 'Lemonworld' both leave me underwhelmed.
Runaway is amazing however.

Boxer is the National's best IMO.

Interesting Demon, much as I adore this album (it’s tied for my favorite of all time) Runaway was the one that took the longest to fully grow on me. Give the album more time and I assure you will love it as much as the previous two.
