I gotta be honest, this one may be the weakest Opeth so far. It has some excellent moments, such as that jaw-dropping second half of Burden, but it's not really standing out of the pack as a whole so far and I've just finished my third play through.

Well, it would be very difficult to follow up Ghost Reveries for sure. I felt the same when this was released, but this one kept growing over the years. It's now almost a 5

yeah I listened to this thinking it would be another Damnation tier masterpiece that I could gravitate to in my time of need and was underwhelmed a bit.

Yeah, this is a pretty light 4, I actually ended up at the point where I prefer Pale Communion to this. But yeah, I plan on giving these guys even more time.

Mostly just prefer the vibe of it, feels a lot closer to the masterpiece that was Damnation. Heritage felt so underwhelming because I knew what they were capable of with the lighter prog rock stylings. I mean Damnation is one of my hardest 5's right now.
