I would love there being shit that sounds like this that I like nearly as much as this band that’d make life a lot easier

I feel like a lot of people use "separating art from the artist" as a lackluster excuse to continue supporting an artist as if they did nothing wrong. When I see that phrase, I see it as meaning that if an asrtist does something fucked and you can no longer support them, you can see the music as its own entity, and can extrapolate it into a different, better medium. It's like child services for music hahaha, its not necessarily the song's fault.

also Nirvana fucking suck and there’s a reason Brand New were all Pearl Jam fans instead

the only qualification for who I choose to support is the quality of the music. do fucked up things, I don’t care, I’ll only start turning on you when the music you make becomes shit

nah I dig Nirvana, theyre a tad overrated but Cobain had what it took to captivate an audience.

and yeah noler i definitely see that. i wish i was strong enough to give up on AILD since there are other older bands still going strong but not a lot of newer bands are keeping it up which says to me that the sound is dying. Would hate to have to completely leave the genre because it turned into a shell of its former self.

That's enough sputnik for today gents... these Nirvana comments are cancer, I'm out.

at the end of the day, ur listening patterns shouldn't change. if anything its just good to form an attitude of, "these guys are fucked up, but I like their music" instead of just covering the facts. looks like thats where ur at tho!

even then, in this case, it's not fair to say "these guys." The only one at fault is Jesse

yeah, I kind of don't have the same history with Brand New so it's a bit rough trying to get into them knowing all this about Lacey. Been into AILD for long enough that it's a little easier to keep them in rotation.
