One of the greatest for sure. More-or-less as amazing as Boxer.

Best album of the 2010s. Also alternate version of Terrible Love is better than the original version, which is still amazing.

This has some of the lushest instrumentation you'll find on any National record

The National have a knack for excellent closers and Crybaby is probably their best

I was once of the mind that this was the weakest of the five National masterpieces but that is slowly changing the more I spin this. I still don't think it's better than Boxer, Sleep, and especially Trouble yet, but it's surpassing Alligator for me right now.

Whichever way you rank it I wouldn't argue with you, and that's a testament to just how consistently amazing they are

You might enjoy the more straightforward approach of days gone past, or you might really love the more intimate atmospheres of their most recent efforts, but either way, any friend of the The National is a friend of mine.

Both Boxer and Alligator are better than this, but this is better than Sleep Well Beast.
