i'm very excited to see chip kelly as a coordinator tbh. dude always had cool offenses in the nfl but completely sabotaged himself being so bad at... everything else lol. very similar to the kliff kingsbury situation

while chip is a cool hire and i like what the raiders are doing in the short term... i'm curious what the contingency plan is when carroll inevitably retires within the next three years, if any. i think back to the arians bucs having both leftwich and bowles on his staff... the latter being a former head coach and the former being a guy arians was molding to be a head coach for many years. hindsight 20/20, leftwich is out of the league, bowles defenses fail the team two years straight... but the plan was "there". maybe graham is that guy but chip is certainly not that.

This is a very similar premise to the John Fisher v Oakland situation. Fisher wanted his stadium built with tax payer money and not a cent of his own. If the deal wasn't done to exactly his standards he threatened to move to Vegas. Oakland is similar to Dallas in that it's a huge market and with the raiders and warriors gone, it has tons of untapped viewer potential. Once he knew he wasn't going to get his way he forced his gm to make lopsided trades. Those trades killed the already low attendance and helped fool the rest of the league's elites into believing that Oakland was no longer a viable place for the A's to exist. To me opinions shared in that link don't feel farfetched. If anything they read like the negotiating tactics right out of Trump tariff playbook, which shouldn't come as a surprise as Adelson and Fisher are very cozy with the president. Crazy times

Kupp seems like he is teetering on the edge of the WR falloff, wonder what he will net in a trade. Patriots could take a flyer on him for a 3rd or something and couple him with a top draft guy. I wouldn't necessarily like that, but it wouldn't be unexpected.
