i remembered when i was like 9-10 i wanted to make it in the NFL, but my athletic level was far too low when i realized how much effort it took. my feet would end up burning on a 50 meter dash for a track meeting, no WAY I was gonna play anything but like kicker, besides I'm like 5'7"

I had pretty good size for a slot receiver. 6'2 and about 180 at the time. Wish I could go back and actually take one of those offers. Doubt I would've made it to the league but it could've been somewhat possible. I had coaches calling me every single day my senior year. Pretty wild to think back on. I was a pretty damn good athlete. Our whole team had crazy talent. Of course Pryor was the main star but even our second team was beating the shit out of other teams starters lol. We played Aliquippa (still a powerhouse also) in the playoffs and the final was 72-49 lmao. Wildest game I was ever apart of. Jon Baldwin (former Chiefs receiver/first round pick) played for them at the time.

I did play against Johnny Gaudreau's Little Flyers team once when I was 14. We got smoked 7-0. RIP to one of my favorites.

my high school never produced anything close to an nfl player. just way better programs elsewhere.

biggest claim to fame is stefon diggs went to the same middle school as me and then rightly transferred to a boujee private school an hour away when it became apparent he had a chance at the league (so the story goes)

imagine that kind of thing happens a lot these days

yeah there are certainly people who don't give a shit about the Watson stuff, but to say that the general fanbase came around to him is asinine

There was audible cheering when Watson was called out. There was excitement over FUCKING Winston. The general fanbase did not come around to Watson lol

What were all those tailgates then where fans were calling women whores and minimizing the allegations? Afaik most would've let it pass if Deshaun had Big Ben production which I guess explains why Ben was able to get away with it

Or maybe that was just a vile vocal minority...

while true lets be honest... if big ben and kobe are anything to go by... the browns fanbase would likely be a lot more forgiving if he was still playing at his houston level. that's not even an indictment on their fanbase that's just where the majority of sports fans' priorities lay.

My school was the one that got dicked on by all the future pro players hahah, our women's lacrosse won state champs a few times though, shout out to them. We were better at producing metal musicians, got like three different dudes who went on to be in some pretty notable bands. All before I was there though.

I mean I still see the Bills getting clowned for cutting Matt Araiza and like... they didn't know it was bullshit what were they supposed to do? Stay the course and get even more hate until it was revealed they were lying?

damn that's wild haha. cool connection. belichick out on the recruiting trail to me is still brain breaking.

and alex that's a cool page never knew that either. guy from the 30's played qb for the bears as the only guy who recorded nfl stats. finished 3rd in the heisman a year as well. never knew that! played two seasons threw 11 tds and 4 picks and joined the navy in ww2. really cool stuff.
