I played my first 2 years on a team with Terrelle Pryor possibly the greatest high school player in PA history. That team was so disciplined it was nuts. No cheating or deflating balls, just pure legal domination.

I played ice hockey growing up, which you couldn't really cheat in unless the refs were letting you get away with blatant penalties or something.

I went to high school with a couple guys that were good D1 football players - one was absolutely insane, rushing for over 400 yards and 6 TDs in one of our playoff games on the way to a state championship and ended up playing safety in college but didn't pan out in the NFL. Also was there with an current All-Star MLB pitcher so I guess that's kind of cool. Never interacted with him since he was in a grade below me.

damn cool stories here. miss those days playing sports, some of my best memories. i played a few guys who went D1 in tennis and i got absolutely railed lol. just another level, they had played since they were born pretty much.

my pretty small high school had an olympic wrestler who was all time in college. he was a cool dude, had a few classes with him. and the other big one was a great basketball player who went on to be a big part of those wisconsin teams that made the final 4 and title game.

Only thing close I have to anything NFL being from a terrible football area is Brian Belichick went to high school at the private school in my town and Bill would be sighted there. He was two years below me I think? The public and private schools in town would play lacrosse friendlies all the time and I know that was his thing.

There was only 2 one was Duquesne which is here in Pittsburgh and the other was Colgate. Very low level but still D1 lol.

Then there was like 5 D2 schools. Maybe it was 4 can't remember it was 15 years ago lol.
