@poly I don't know why, but it's like one of their most depressing songs to me. Has a weird nostalgic and thus sad vibe and the "Wake me up" part alone makes it sad as hell. Thom just sings it in a touching way

He does sing it in a very touching way but I've always found it to be more uplifting. Even more than that it's the "If you think this over, then you're wrong" line. Ugh so good

Better than Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, Pablo Honey and The Bends. Even though I love most of those albums (Pablo Honey is not that awful), this is clearly superior.

Better than Pablo and The Bends by a mile for me. About on par with Amnesiac and HTTT

Amnesiac>HTTT>>>The King of Limbs>The Bends>>>>PH
The Live from the Basement version of The King of Limbs is better than all of those, and maybe even A Moon Shaped Pool too.

This is just better than Amnesiac and Pablo Honey for me. I can definitely see liking this more than HTTT but the Bends fuckin slaps and is significantly better than this

Pablo Honey is ok, better than a lot of fans say it is. The Bends is an excellent, very well done '90s alt. rock album with some fantastic songs, but everything they did afterward are more interesting and creative imo
I always thought HTTT was better than Amnesiac, but recently my opinion has switched. They're close tho, but what makes Amnesiac superior is the more abstract and rewarding atmosphere, and conciseness of it.
HTTT is very cold and meandering, which gets tiresome given how overlong it is. Sail to the Moon, There There, Scatterbrain, and A Wolf are among their best songs, and it's still at least an 8/10

Add Backdrifts and Where I End... and you're hired

I rank this above HTTT, it’s a tighter and more consistent overall listening experience. Even the band themselves admit HTTT was something of a misstep.
Pablo Honey I haven’t listened to in full in forever, back when I was a much more impressionable listener and hence I honestly never formed a real opinion on it; it probably is a fine 90s rock album, but The Bends remains a classic in my eyes - as perfect as a semi-mainstream-sounding 90s rock album can get.

2+2, Sit Down, Where I End, and Go to Sleep are really great too. Backdrifts is probably my least favorite on HTTT. It could use a track listing change-up and trim overall, then it'd be on par with A Moon Shaped Pool and TKOL:LFtB. I think Thom Yorke even posted one officially at one point b/c he probably felt similarly.

Yeah they posted an edited tracklist at some point.
Also, I Will is lowkey the second best song on HTTT
