Premium lets you use it whenever the hell you want. Free lets you use it, but on your phone it's essentially like Pandora and will half the time play a random song by the artist and other half of the time songs by "similar" artists. But when you use a tablet or iPad, you can get your first 30 minutes usage of Spotify ad free before the ads occur nearly after every song. On those two formats tho you can listen to full albums tho

Spotify on PC is awesome you don't have to pay for it or anything. All you need is an account and you can listen anytime you want, no subscription (only the mobile app requires subscription, not sure if this has been changed recently or if my memory is faulty. Been quite a while since I used Spotify on my computer/laptop). You still have to put up with ads, but they're nowhere near as constant as on the mobile app
