all big debatable. I'll take Creeping Death, Fade to Black, For Whom the Bell tolls and ride the lightning over MoP any day of the week, as well as One, Battery and Disposable Heroes (and a fair few other, far more controversial, picks actually). I'll give you Orion I suppose, but Lightning has one right behind it.



Escape isn't bad, but is obviously not a god-level track like the rest here. That said, I'll never understand how people pretend that Leper Messiah and to some extent The Thing That Should Not Be aren't steps down from the badassery of the others. Leper is downright annoying and Thing is...pretty good but would I really give half a fuck if I never heard it again? Chorus is cool and James slays the vocals tho.

I get it. Some ppl here perfer the low fi type of production of this. Side A here is perfect but things kinda go down hill after that at least compared to side A. I'm not with you on leper Messiah and the thing that should not be those are great tracks and still better than the weaker tracks here imo. If you liked those more you might think a bit differently maybe. I'd take fade to black over welcome home sanitarium, and bell tolls/fade are both top 5 Metallica tracks for me. But that's really about it and that's where the debate kinda ends for me. Creeping death is great to of course. But Disposable heroes kills trapped under ice.... Orion>>, gimmie battery over fight fire,title track>> again probably their staple track the and the track more ppl then not would say is their best song in general. The production on that album is just a step up and again James vocals after this got better he still sounds fairly juvenile here similar to kill. Puppets you have their best thrash tracks like battery and disposable and and their best instrumental and it's just the more well balanced and better produced record. And yeah the thing that should not be and even leper Messiah are great slower tracks and just add bit more variety to puppets

I'm with you justice is a masterpiece yeah one of my favorites as well. I also perfer it to this. Good pick that's probably the first metal album I ever heard tbh. You can't beat the guitar tone on that album

I generally prefer Justice to MoP too. Blackened is secretly like top 5 'tallica. One is a GOAT contender for all of metal. Can't say I agree about the guitar tone but it's certainly one of the more unique sounding records lol.
