for the life of me idgi why ppl (mainly indie/music nerd community) been using this as rap musics standard of quality since its release. I think I get the appeal in that the whole album does a good job since its cinematic and the whole album goes very good together and kanye expresses where he was in his life and his relationship with media and society and whatnot
but damn most the beats jus sound like some "epic" indie appeal beats (albeit will give props for makin "epic" songs without makin em overproduced) and while yes got some quotables his flow and rappin as a whole makes me not give a shit and none of the album makes me wanna be invested in it. all of the lights, so appalled and hell of a night stick with me and even make me care bout rihanna, cyhi and swizz feats for the first and only time
idk maybe its cuz I've never been as crazy bout kanye as everybody else. late registration is one of the best albums of the 00s tho

I just dont like that whole corny suburban appeal cuz I care more bout vibes and the feel of the music over everything and this just doesnt illicit any substantial vibe for me mostly, jus feels like empty "epicness"
