So yes, Christianity can be incredibly hateful and ignorant, but it can also be liberal and even open-minded. I hope my example made it clearer for you. My parents, who have been Christians their whole life have never told me I had to be a Christian or I would burn in hell, my fundamentalist teachers did. The organized religion of Christianity is so different in different places that it's almost impossible to generalize and compare them to Trump supporters or even Nazism. Nazism killed millions upon millions of people because they were Jew, Roma, Sinthi, Black, Homosexual or just against the regime. The actual doctrine consists of hate. There are no good nazis, only bad nazis. Everyone that's not a nazi agrees with this. There are Christians that are good people though, a lot of them in fact. Yes, there are a lot of bad apples and I've seen and dealt with people like that from close by. This is why I turned my back on organized religion.

Sputnik hasn't yet waged war on anyone, that's a major difference. If it started e.g. persecuting minorities or using violence and murder to achieve its goals, I would leave it. This doesn't hold true for christians for some reason.
