Personally I don't really expect a lot of variety going into a record like this
When I love the signature sound as much as this, I'm pretty much set

This album does not need variation when it achieves the sound, mood, atmosphere, and message that it was going for. The album title is a perfect representation of my listening experience: succumbing to the darkness.

Can I get an Amen?

I think there's plenty of variation in how the songs are arranged. They're all similar in aesthetic but every Ulcerate album is like that. Otherwise Amen [2]

I mean yeah, it's varied enough to keep the average listener interested for it's duration imo

Seeing these guys live in four days. Haven't seen them before, much excite. I feel like I'm just gonna be staring at the drummer all night.

You lucky bastard. Hope the travel bubble between Aus and NZ means I can see them again soon enough.

Fingers crossed my g. Could do with a few Aussie bands over here too, we're running our artists ragged over NY

Not usually a fan of Technical Death Metal, but on this album Ulcerate where able to create a dark moody atmosphere I really love. The harshness of the technical death is still there but they allow it to breath within that atmosphere. If you're like me and you like bands like Swallow The Sun, Draconian, Daylight Dies, Novembers Doom, My Dying Bride. You might get something out of this album. Yes it has harsher vocals and more brutal passages but at the same time Ulcerate were able to create an extremely satisfying atmosphere that should please people who have a penchant for a dark moody dissonant sound.

This being my first Ulcerate album, are their previous albums anything like this ?
