This is in the running along with those two tbh. But fr you could tell me almost any of them are your favorite and I’d be like “yeah totally” and then we could both gush about how great it is. goat band

It’s not about “knowing” core, I generally/genuinely just don’t like it all that much. there are exceptions, however, and this is one.

Ok that makes me feel better

I thought I was going totally insane

Jane Doe was my favorite forever but I dunno, these two are just riffing like crazy and I actually prefer the non super screechy vocal style (I know thats more due to bad technique rather than artistic choice but still)

Axe to Fall and You Fail Me are my fav Converge records despite Jane Doe prob being their biggest "artistic statement"

I think this, You Fail Me, and Jane are like the holy trinity of Converge records. All three are pretty much perfect to me

I have to put Axe in mine because it was so crucial to my musical journey

tier 1 is Jane

tier 2 is YFM / Axe

tier 3 is this + a bunch of others (this is in the lower reaches of the tier tho)

tier 4 is Dusk / Bloodmoon

Bloodmoon wasn't bad but not really for me either. Easily my least favorite

I actually really love bloodmoon but it’s been a bit since I’ve heard it - honestly that’s more of my style than the grindy aspects of earlier converge

I’m doing an out of order discog run so I’ll have a clearer idea in. A few days where I’d rank everything now

I’ve heard their albums before but all throughout different periods in my life

I recently jammed Bloodmoon for the first time and loved it. Also idk why I took the 5 off of this but its coming back on. One of the albums most responsible for getting me into metalcore.

Same, I remember listening to Jane Doe and thinking it was a hot pile of dogshit, then this dropped and was getting hyped so I checked it out and that was my “oh fuck I get it now” moment
