Yeah it's kind of whack though. Maybe we'd have more examples of things evolving in such a way if they didn't stamp out other faiths before they could get there, but hell was originally some vague place where you don't have god's love. Then it became fire. Probably poaching shit from Zoroastrianism. But nobody needs me to point out how the gods of both testaments are clearly different.
Like the Hinduisms didn't tell the old lore to fuck off, they just shuffled things around. As the religion became more philosophical, worldly Vedic important deities like Indra, Surya, Agni became second hats to Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer. Their afterlives weren't turned into something else entirely.
Just like no matter how death metal advances in the future, this won't stop being a sick-ass album.
