Good Morning Captain is best. It's all great. Invented the music-critic word "angular" probably

Who the fuck is Slint? Why should anyone even care about them? Well, they are four Kentucky natives that practically created the self-proclaimed genre of post-rock and probably the best thing to come from Kentucky as far as music is concerned. Maybe there is a reason to care about Slint and their 1991 masterpiece, Spiderland.

IQ 0-150: For Dinner is kinda boring
IQ 150-200: For Dinner is secretly a masterpiece of subtle, foreboding tension
IQ 200+: For Dinner is kinda boring

Slint may be the best band coming out of Kentucky, but afaiac Wombo is 2nd.

It loses steam viewed in a vacuum (aside from the fact that it predicted a darker and more dismal side of slowcore that hadn't really been defined by that point in time) but it's absolutely critical to the album - would crumble like a Jenga tower without it, I'm afraid.

Yup I'm 5ving this. It's mind-blowing how the founding of two subgenres can be argued to be traced back to this album.
