More punishing vox wouldn’t work on tEOES, it’s not as heavy as this record and the ‘lighter’ vox compliment the added ambience. The vox are more anguished on that record than anything and it suits the sound perfectly. This is the soundtrack to war after all, can’t get much heavier than that, thematically speaking.

Are this and Enemy of the Sun basically their only two really heavy albums? I listened to the one after this and didn't really like the melodic approach (not that I cared for this either). I think this band just isn't for me.
