Still enjoyed Twilight, but the ones that came after weren't for me either.

VS, Norns and this for best AA.

"Band completely lost the plot after this alb"

lolol. true.

What's your fave Amon everyone? It's good to know these things from each other.

Picking one out of Versus The World, Fate Of Norns, and With Oden On Our Side is difficult. In the end I think I'd pick Norns.

Yeah great picks agreed, this is fantastic and unique in its perfect blend of accessibility and aggression. Nothing quite like it in that regard. Versus has that too I think. Norns is muddier, but I love that about it.

Norns is third best for me, easily.

Golden Hall is probably fourth.

Think so too yeah. Crusher/Avenger are nice too, but a slight dip in quality.

What's your fave Amon everyone?

Twilight, Oden, Surtur, Versus, Norns in that order

this is more solid, but twilight has better prod and the sound has more oomph, so basically a tossup. I still need to listen to their older stuff.

I remember Twilight being a step down from this, but I haven't heard it in ages. To me it was a little less punchy and a little tamer than this one. Will verify today.

Their order stuff is very much worth it.

Jamming Twilight now and already disagreeing with "twilight has better prod". The drums are just slightly suffering from that hollow-plastic sound, whereas that isn't at all an issue here.

Some songs are just outright bad too, like Live for the Kill

Many are very nice, but yes, I don't like Live For The Kill either.

What?! Live For the Kill absolutely rules. Perfectly paced with shimmering melodic trems over the rumbling rhythm section. Also has solos and a brief cello interlude before returning to the chorus riff and vicious hegg vocals and end

Hmmmi don't really like the cello bit and in general it takes itself a little too seriously.
