Smoke Machines (Summer Moon) 4.6/5 - Infectious opener, love reference to Sparky’s Dream
Holding Back the Dark - 4.1/5 - slowly paced with great instrumenals
Bedroom Door 4.0/5 - really smooth transition from previous song
Love Comes Around 4.4/5 - devastating lyrics
Our Lady of Sorrows 4.9/5 - best song of the album, what a banger
Dream Song 4.1/5 - really witty lyrics
Old-Time Tunes 3.9/5 - weakest song, but it does not ruin the album flow
Something Borrowed 4.7/5 - that chorus absolutely slaps
Staying Gold (Slow Defeat) 4.5/5 - superb lyrics combined with nice drums
Classic Movies 4.0/5 - the most mainstream song, but last minute is great
So Long, Sundown 4.3/5 - best guitar work on the album with catchy chorus
Second City, Setting Sun 4.4/5 - superb song overall
Bloody Mary 4.2/5 - respectable ending, wish it would be longer though
Overall i would say Sumer Moon is better and more complex album than TDBB. Better lyrics and instrumentals, but vocals are maybe quite weaker than I expected. I hope we will get another album in max. 5 years.

Yeah I think I've come around to liking this more than TDDB too but it doesn't quite reach the debut for me.
One of my favourites of the year, brilliant songwriting.

After a first spin, this is fascinating. I hear some American Football, some The World is a Beautiful Place..., some Snow Patrol (of all things), but it's still its own thing.
Will probably grow on me after a few more listens.

^ Snow Patrol were the first thing I was reminded of listening to this. And a little bit of Bell X1.

Smoke Machines (Summer Moon) sounds like it has mixing problems when the loud haha vocals come in before the final big bang.

Because everything does.

gotta say that relistening is really not improving this one at all. bumped down slightly
chorus guitar on Holding Back the Dark + accidental Supercar copycatting and tight songwriting on Love Comes Around are far and away the best bits
