I'm so waiting to see them live next week, I absolutely loved watching Legion performances on youtube and seeing how Dan's approach to tackling that insane vocal part changes over time as he keeps trying new things

If anything, the title track is a detriment to the album. It gives a glimpse of what could have been, but instead in the rest of the tracks, it's just more of the same as we got on Sonder and Polaris. Still good, but left wanting so much more.

polaris is one of the most boring albums any band like this has ever released and sonder has like 10 good minutes on it that keeps it out of that tier lmao. miracle this band was ever able to make anything this good. first tesseract album where they arent getting in the way of themselves at all

Rly bad Polaris and Sonder take. Polaris took some time to grow but Sonder is fantastic. Probably still prefer that sound to most of this record.

And Concealing Fate still rules but the rest of album1 I could toss out honestly.

other way around re: one tbh. concealing fate is cool but dropping it right in the middle of a record flows crazy awkwardly lol. woulda way preferred it as an ep standalone

also dan is one of my favorite singers ever and i love most of his projects but the sound on polaris and sonder is pretty at odds with the way he writes his melodies and they arent that great either on dan's end. neither of them work well with each other at all and it makes it sound like hes trudging through like a swamp of overly clean djent
dystopia / hexes are aiight tho. king is def the best song from either album

There's just a billion flashy/busy/heavy djenty ass metal albums out there that Polaris/Sonder stand out as unique and special, I love those super slow bass digging in hard as fuck heavier sections in contrast w/ the more reserved and melodic vocals.
Best part of the new one is how much Dan goes off tho, love hearing his range on this for sure.
Also saying T/T is the only thing on this that isn't a repeat of Polaris/Sonder is a full on "are you deaf tho?" take for me, idk what that's aboot.

Ok, might have been the best concert I've attended since pandemic.
Actually surprising amount of songs from One and Sonder - 5 songs off this album is still decent, just expected more. Kinda disappointed didn't get to hear Burden (which I feel like doesn't get enough attention here). But got King, Smile and Juno so hey, I'm totally not complaining.
Either way, great concert - Dan is a goddamn beast just as expected

Yeah, I attended a concert a few days ago too. They ripped, and the whole crowd was so stoked. I immediately wanted to follow up with another tour date but as time and money are scarce, I just couldn't make it.
In any case, was glad to meet the boys and just go all out headbanging and jumping when the main set started. Natural Disaster is such a great opener, both for the album and the concert. Was also hoping for Burden seeing as it is one of my favs here, but oh well. Dan was sick at the beginning of the tour but he got better in the meantime and you'd never recognize it in his performance. Just awesome overall.

Polaris falls off a bit in the second half, like every one of their albums that isn't this one, but the front is disgustingly good. Hexes and Tourniquet in particular are beautiful. I spent a lot of time on here defending Sonder, with King | Juno | Smile | The Arrow being top-tier Tesseract, but the rest of the album *is* pretty disjointed. Even those songs have redeeming qualities though.

nope this album gets pretty boring in the second half

only album this band has ever made where every song is actually worth listening to
and yea polaris is at least kind of listenable in its first 10 ish minutes but by utopia / phoenix (the two worst songs theyve ever made) any solid ground is lost entirely

The best second half for me are probably Altered State or Sonder
